Our Public Art Program for the city of Mikkeli is published

As a culmination of the project spanning two years, the art program for the city of Mikkeli has been published and approved by the city council to guide future public art projects in the city.

The art program was created by Public Art Agency Finland in collaboration with the city departments of cultural affairs, design & construction, parks, and urban planning. During the process, we also created several occasions for the public to get involved and to have their say on how they want to be a part of public art processes in the future.

The program takes the shape of a practical guide, and will be distributed to officials working in all relative agencies of the city government, as well as cultural organizations that are active in the area. Among other things, it lists the questions to be considered when applying for - or evaluating the application - of a new public art project in different kind of situations and different parts of the city.
